Dear SDRA Members, Two important events are coming up, so please mark your calendars for Sunday morning, August 10th!
SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Sunday, August 10th at 10 am: This very brief meeting will be held at the Sand Dam Day event. The sole agenda item is a proposed amendment to the By-laws.
Recommendation: That a landowner with a “deeded right of way to use the reservoir” will be eligible for full membership. A very important aspect of this proposed change is that it requires DEEDED access, not access through an easement. Nor would it enable the proposed 14 homes to be built at Waterview Acres to be eligible as individuals for full membership. Cited below is how the proposed language would be included in amended by-laws.The language in blue shows the proposed change.
Section 1. Eligibility for Full Membership
Landowner Regular Membership: Any landowner with property adjacent to the Sand Dam Reservoir, or landowner with a deeded right of way to use the Reservoir, is eligible to join the Association and become a voting member of the Association. A member of the SDRA shall be the recorded landowner(s) of property abutting the Reservoir or landowner with a deeded right of way and must pay annual dues for such membership.
Note: if you are unable to attend the meeting, you may vote by proxy as follows: To exercise this privilege, a signed proxy shall be filed at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting with the Secretary of the Association, Meg Fournier (connorsmeg@yahoo.com).The proxy shall be given to a voting member.
