Deb Silva’s husband,
Richard Anthony Silva, 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on January 15, 2026.
Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Anthony and Mildred (Ruggieri) Silva.
Richard leaves behind his devoted wife, Deborah (Kiernan) Silva, with whom he shared fifty beautiful years of marriage. He was a proud resident of Glocester for over fifty years and was deeply rooted in the community he loved.
Richard worked as a nuclear pipe welder at Electric Boat for 42 years, a career he took great pride in. In addition, he enjoyed bartending at the Stage Coach Tavern, where he formed many lasting friendships and connections within the community. He also shared his skills and knowledge by teaching welding at New England Tech.
In his leisure time, Richard found joy in sailing and bowling, passions that brought him relaxation and happiness throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved children, Myles Silva and Lindsay Torti and her husband Larry; and his cherished grandchildren, Marlie Jo Silva, Violette Torti, Garrett Torti, Vivian Silva, and Guinevere Silva, who were the light of his life.
